Cruel Bill Plays Politics with Women’s Health and Lives: Why Catholics Reject 20-Week Ban

An International Summit on Reproductive Choice
At a unique two-day summit, more than 70 advocates, service providers and academics from across the globe discussed how best to defend and advance women’s reproductive choices. The summit was organized by Catholics for Choice, along with Portugal’s Associação para o Planeamento da Família and the British Pregnancy Advisory Service. Stop Abusing Religion to Discriminate Against DC Workers

On April 30, Congress voted to overturn the DC Reproductive Health Non-Discrimination Act (RHNDA), a bill unanimously passed by the DC City Council that would protect the conscience rights of those living and working in the District. Without RHNDA, employees in the District could be fired or face other retribution for their reproductive health decisions. A woman could be fired for having an abortion, a man could be paid less because his wife uses birth control or a woman could be demoted for having a child without being married. Read more.
